Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from hubby of seven years, Brandon Blackstock, on June 4th, 2020. Given the stress from their major move to Los Angeles from the laid back life in Tennessee and both of their glamorous careers taking flight in full throttle, it’s no wonder the duo barely had time for each other.
A close source reveals how the split was expected with their busy lifestyles. It’s also evident that Blackwood’s towering music-manager work, along with Kelly’s dedication to coaching on The Voice as well as the production of her own syndicated, The Kelly Clarkson Show, weren’t the only things demanding their attention.

They are also parents to four amazing kids—Remington, River Rose, Seth, and Savannah, spanning from ages 4 to 18. The amount of work, care, and attention kids require is a no-brainer.
So among all these distractions, Clarkson and Brandon had no choice but to be more like friends than spouses.
While Savannah and Seth are from Brandon’s first marriage, Kelly shares a special bond with them too. The family is adorable to look at, and they all seem so happy whenever we spot them on the red carpet.
The Stronger singer is determined to continue this bond despite the separation since she wants all her children to have a “stable and loving environment.”
In a Glamour UK interview, Clarkson painfully recalled having to work through abandonment issues from a young age with her parents’ difficult divorce. So she’s aware of the toll it could take on the kids if they don’t handle the separation well, and let it turn bitter.
We’re glad the artist has learned her lessons from the past and wouldn’t go down the same path her parents did.

The three-time Grammy award-winner says that the issues and suffering that crop up from a bad home never go away but rather stay with you so that you’re constantly working towards ways to live around it. We cannot agree more!
Her song,Piece by Piece, tackles the emotions surrounding the hurt she felt when her father left her family and how she found her way back to happiness with Blackstock. While the marriage has come to an end, Kelly’s plans for the future to stay as a family shows that no love is lost.
So even though the news about these lovebirds’ split shook us all, the kids would still have a warm and love-filled home to come back to. Isn’t that absolutely amazing?
